Recovering a past version that was not labelled

Post by cebpm » Mon Jan 14, 2008 1:51 pm

Hi,

A former developer created an .net application that has been promoted to production, however the version that was published was not labelled. To complicate things, additional changes have been made to the code since production that were never promoted to production. So, we have aproduction application, but no representative code base available for further enhancements. At least not one that we can put together without extensive trial and error.

We have a good idea of the date when the version in production was completed. What is the best way to assemble the files as they were on the date they were published with out a version label?

Thanks!

Using the Vault GUI Client, select the project folder, then right-click and Show History. In History Explorer, choose the radio button for "View folder history by version."

This will return the folder versions. Select the version with the date of the revisions you need, and you can label that version, view it, get it, etc.
