I need to install the vault server in a hosted environment. Since I can't run the .msi on the actual server, I ran the installation locally which created the database and webservice.
Next, I detached the local database and attached it to the hosted database server. After the database was up and running, I copied the VaultService folder to the web server and configured a Virtual directory for it. Finally, I updated the web.config and vault.config files on the hosted server with the appropriate information.
Everything seemed to be working fine, initially. I was able to connect to the vault server with the Admin tool, log into it, create users, repositories, folders, set security, etc. When logging on via the Client tool, I tried uploading files to one of the folders and I received the following strange message and the transaction aborted.
Please verify your network settings using the Options dialog under the Tools menu in the Vault GUI Client.
The specific error was "The remote server returned an error: (999) No Hacking."
Is the (999) No Hacking showing up because I manually installed and configured the vault server by moving it from one machine to another? If so, is there any way to manually install the webservice component of the Vault server?
Thanks.

We haven't seen this error before. It may be coming from the hosted server rather than directly from Vault.
Is there anything in the Vault Server Log that corresponds to this error?
Is there a proxy, firewall, or other device between your Vault Client and Vault Server?
