FailDBFault error

Post by mwrogers » Mon Oct 01, 2007 11:48 am

I'm testing Vault and receiving a FailDBFault error when attempting to check in files in one specific folder. All other files in all other folders check in and out correctly, and I'm able to check the files out of the folder and undo the checkout without a problem, but trying to check them back in (whether or not they were modified) raises a FailDBFault error.

I've deleted the folder and recreated it with all the files, but I get the same error.

I've tried to change the logging to debug in the admin tool, but the Save button is always disabled. Is this because I'm using a trial license? I'd like to try the obliterate tool, but it too never expands any of the folders or anything.

Thanks,
Marcus

Something I just noticed. On the folder that is causing problems, whenever I check out a file, it displays two identical rows in the Pending Change Set window. If I only try to check in one of the two rows, it works and both rows disappear, leaving everything in a normal state.

I assume this duplicate row is because I deleted the original folder in Vault and re-created it. Is there some way to blow out the original folder? Is that what the obliterate tool is for, if I can get it working?

Alrighty then, guess I just needed to talk this one out with myself. For anyone else who runs into the same issues:

Running the web admin tool from another machine cleared up all the problems with the buttons not being enabled and such.

All the files in the offending folder were listed on the Undo Check Out page (even though they weren't shown as being checked out on the Vault Client). I simply undid all the checkouts, rebooted server and client, and everything works.

Thanks for the self-help forum. My purchase is on the way.

Thanks for trying Vault. The duplicate checkout entries is a known issue and will be fixed in the next release. Not sure why you couldn't save Admin Client settings -- there may have been a refresh problem on that machine.
