Mac OS X command line and Eclipse plugin problems

Hi,

I am trying to access a Vault v3.5 repository using OS X. I have tried using both the Eclipse plugin and the command line client using Mono (following the instructions for this which includes installing ICU). Both give the error message: "The server uses a protocol that is not supported by this client". I've got the latest Eclipse plugin and have tried both v3.5 and v4 of the command line client. Any ideas on whats happening? I'm not sure if its really a version issue, could be something to do with my installation of ICU or the SOAP service?

Eclipse wasn't supported until Vault 4.x. The error you mentioned usually occurs when the Vault client and server are too many versions apart. Vault 3.5.x and 4.x can't connect.

For just using the command-line client on a Mac, you will want to first make sure you are using a client that matches the Vault server version. Instructions on that portion can be found here: Vault on Unix with Mono.

Thanks for the reply. I mentioned I'd tried it with the 3.5 client, the problem was that I wasn't running it with admin privileges. Using 'sudo mono vault.exe' did the trick.
