Renegade files with no obvious difference

Post by UKValuation » Fri Sep 07, 2007 7:18 am

Hi, I have been using Vault for a while now and like what i have seen. However, i have come accross an issue that is to do with renegade files.

When comparing the renegade files they are identical, the only difference i can see is the time and date of the file which is fair enough. When i Get Latest this status isn't resolved - i don't want to Get Latest and Overwrite as i am not 100% that all the renegade files are down to the time and date (i.e. some might be legitimate changes performed locally whilst disconnected).

Is there any method of identifying those files that are renegade due to time and date differences only and those that are renegade for other reasons?

Hope you can help,
K.

You could try using CRC's instead of modification times to determine if the files are actually modified. This can be enabled in Vault Client Tools->Options->Local Files. Be aware that this can slow performance.
