403 error after upgrading to 4.0.2

Post by Michael_Dorfman » Fri Jul 27, 2007 9:31 am

I just upgraded from 4.0.1 to 4.0.2.

The Admin web page works fine, and I can still access the Vault without problem from my 4.0.1 Vault Client.

However, when I try to go to the /vaultservice URL to download the new (4.0.2) client, I get the following error:

The website declined to show this webpage
HTTP 403
Most likely causes:
This website requires you to log in.

I've enabled "Anonymous Access" on the VaultService web application, but no luck so far.

Any ideas?

In IIS manager, can you go to website properties->Web Site->Connections. Do you have a connections limit there?

When you installed Vault 4.0.2, what IIS process model did you select?
Is that the same as it was before?

OK, I fixed it!

It ends up that I could browse to /vaultservice/index.html ok, but not to /vaultservice-- which lead me to check the "Default Content page" tab in IIS. Sure enough, "index.html" was not there, and once I added it, everything worked ok.

Is the default page different in 4.0.2? Was it "index.htm" or something else earlier?

It used to be different. I hadn't seen that page not install correctly yet though. I'd probably just blame sun spots.
