Can't break shares due to checked out files

Post by JohnMason » Fri Jul 27, 2007 4:28 am

Hi
I am experiencing a problem in vault 4.0.2(15802) as follows:

The initial problem was being unable to pin a project due to checked out files.

On investigation I found the project was branched from an earlier version, and some of the project folders are shared with the old version. I am unable to break the shares because there are checked out files in the original project.

I am also unable to undo the checkout on those files because the files have been deleted from vault. I can view these checked out files in the admin tool, can select them for obliteration, but the option to obliterate remains grayed out.

Any assistance would be much appreciated.
regards

Go to the folder those files originally belonged to, right-click it and select properties. Go to the deleted items tab and undelete those items. Then you should be able to either perform an undo check out with the Admin tool or to check them in. You should be able to work backwards through that then.

You should actually avoid obliterate whenever you can.

Let me know if that gets you to where you need to be.
