Accessing Fortress Server with Vault Client

We are currently using Vault 3.5.2 and will be upgrading to Fortress shortly.

We have 5 developers that will be using Fortress, but there are another 2 developers that only need the source-control features.
For this reason, we were thinking that they would only need Vault 4.0.2.

My question is, is it possible to use the Vault 4.0.2 client with Fortress 1.0.2 server or will all clients need to be Fortress clients?

Vault clients cannot connect to Fortress -- your users would need Fortress clients.
