Any tips for moving a Vault Server?

Hi there,

I am preparing a new server to replace an old one running an old version of Valut (3.0.1) I would like to upgrade to the latest version within my license (3.1.9) on the new server.

What's the best way to do this?

Should I install 3.0.1 on the new server first, then restore the database and then upgrade to 3.1.9? Or are there better ways to do this?

Is there a need to export any settings like ShadowFolders configuration or are they all stored in the SQL Server database?

First backup your database. Then restore and attach it to where you would like it to be, and then install Vault. Vault will find the database when you connect to the SQL server.
