VS2005SP1 Vault 4.0.1 Context Menu Doesn't Work

Post by kevanbrown » Mon Jun 18, 2007 10:33 am

OS: Windows XP Professional SP2
VS: Visual Studio 2005 SP1

When I right-click the solution or project and select to add it to source control, the cursor blinks and nothing happens. Then if I right-click the object again, the "Add to source control" option is no longer present.

Here the context menu option is visible on the first right-click operation.

Now the context menu is gone on the second right-click.

Can you check in your Tools - Options (in VS) for what your source control provider is?
Do you have any source menus under the File menu?

Sure enough that was it

Apparently Vault wasn't added as my default source control provider during install. Isn't that supposed to happen?

Thanks for the help!

In current versions, that isn't being done any more. It has to be set.
