"Server Closed Connection" - No errors in log.

Post by zsherry » Wed May 16, 2007 2:17 pm

I am encountering a "Server Closed Connection" error from the client when attempting to connect from a remote workstation connecting thru a MS VPN server to a non secure default port (8080) on the SOS server.

I am able to connect without error when on a workstation connected internally on the same network.

I've attached the server log below:

The first connection is from an internal workstation, the remaining are from the workstation on the VPN.

I'm assuming there's a firewall in there somewhere. Can others connect remotely? It may be that there isn't a clear path. You may wish to check out this KB article: http://support.sourcegear.com/viewtopic.php?t=37.

SOS needs a persistent connection, so every piece of networking equipment between you and that sever has the potential to close that connection.

Can you pinpoint the are in the SOS server log where the server loses its connection to your machine? If there are errors logged there, that would be helpful to see.

Was having the same issue. The server was on windows XP Pro SP2. I had to go into the windows firewall and add the port.
