Hi,
I need to label a set of files. That label will indicate a release version. The files are in folders and sub-folders. I'd like to label all of them recursively from a root folder, but leaving the folders unlabeled. Is there a way to do that?
I'm not sure if the same version of a folder can have more than one label? (many versions share the same version of the folder) If so, I'd want to label them too.
How do I label a tree recursively? And is there a way to specify I want the folders unlabeled?
Thanks,
Paul
Label recursively and multiple labels

When a command is applied recursively, then it is applied to all subfolders and files under the parent. So if you label a folder recursively, that folder and all its subfolders will inherit the label.
If you just want to label the files, you could apply the same label to multiple files. Select multiple files in the file list, right-click and then use the Label command.
To see your labels, use Vault's Show Labels command at the folder or file level. In the Show Labels window, you have the option to see labels applied directly on the folder or file, labels inherited (applied at a higher level in the tree), or recursive labels (labels applied at a lower level). From this you can select a label and Get, View, Diff, Share, and Branch the label.
The same version of a folder or file can have multiple labels.
I've given you some information about labels, but I'm not sure if I've solved your problem. Let me know if you have further questions.
