VS2005 error on check in.

Post by frizzo » Tue Jan 30, 2007 1:05 pm

Every now and then, when checking files from Visual Studio 2005, I get the following error. Anyone know what this is all about?

---------------------------
Microsoft Visual Studio
---------------------------
Unexpected error encountered. It is recommended that you restart the application as soon as possible.

Error: Unspecified error

File: vsee\pkgs\vssprovider\getfilesselectedforcommand.cpp

Line number: 1200
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------

We've seen errors like this from time to time and aren't sure exactly what causes them. One user reported that he got this error when some of his files were Renegade.

This error can be caused by discrepancies in file/folder path information in the solution file.

A recommended fix is to do a fresh "Open from Source Control" into new working directories.
