Conflict with other VB6 Add-in

Post by dmurty » Thu Jan 25, 2007 5:10 pm

Hi,
We use another add-in for vb6 called codesmart 2007 for vb6 from a company axtools. Information about this product can be found at www.axtools.com. Anywhys when every we have both the SourceGear add-in loaded and the codesmart add-in loaded vb6 generates an error upon exiting. If only one of these add-in's are loaded then there is no error. Microsoft recommends that we contact the creators of the add-in. So I will be sending this to both SourceVault and AXTools. The error message is the following:

The exception unkown software exception (0xc0020001) occured in the application at location 0x7c812a5b. Click on OK to terminate the program.

We are using SourceVault 3.1.9.3798. The server is on a windows 2003 box and this happens on all development machines.

Thank you

When you say it generates an error upon exiting, you mean that it only occurs when you close VB6? Does everything run ok during working with VB6?

Yes, it only occurs when closing vb6. And yes everything else seems to work just fine. In fact both Vault and the other add-in codesmart work without problems. Its just this error message every time you close vb6.

Are any errors logged? You may wish to see if you can get IDE logging going and check to see if more information is provided there.

Does that file make use of the MCSCCI API file as well?

I will download it and give it a try if they have a demo. If they don't their support person can download Vault and try it out.

I ran the logging and did not see anything out of the ordinary. I have attached the log file so you can take a look at it for yourself. I do beleive that the other add-in does use the mcscci api as they also provide functions for check in and check out for the current project.

This is going to take some time. Could you send an email to support at sourcegear.com (attn: Beth) with a link to this thread so I can collect more detailed information?
