Replication

Post by JasonS » Tue Apr 06, 2004 4:11 pm

We are evaluating the Vault for use in a multi-office development environment (ie we would like to replicate the repository in case of WAN failure. Happens often enough :( )

Does anyone have any experience with running Vault in a replicated database environment for performance and/or any gotchas?

Are you wanting to do transactional replication?

It is not possible to do replication with the current Vault database schema. We use encryption, which prevents the trigger from being published as part of SQL Server replication.

As protection, some of the schema, triggers, stored procedures, and user defined functions, are created with the "with encryption" flag."

Will replication be possible in version 3.0?

No, we haven't made any changes in this area. It's still logged as a feature request. I'll add your "vote."
