How to get latest labelled version?

Post by boomessh » Mon Dec 18, 2006 8:15 am

Hi,

Is it possible to configure the IDE(Visual studio 2005) or some settings in the Source Vault client/server to get the only latest *labelled* version instead of the latest version?

Thanks,

Currently you can get by label in Vault or you can view the history from within the IDE and you should see the label actions there as well.

If you want an option to get by latest label without knowing what that label is, I can put in a feature request. There are certain limits Visual Studio places on Vault and what it can do, so that could be one of those limitations.

Hi Beth,

Thanks for your reply.

I need something like this. Assume i have a Framework project and i have currently released the 2.5 version and labelled it in Vault. The team would continue to change the files for the next release, meanwhile as a consumer of this project, developers through IDE, when request for latest version, then the latest labelled version (2.5 version in this case) should be downloaded. In this case i need n't know the name of the label. (Just pick the last labelled version for download). You got my point, but i felt to add a few clarifications to it.

Thanks,
