Problem installing using Active Directory account

Post by NorrisPC » Thu Dec 14, 2006 3:44 pm

Hello!

I am having great difficulty installing Vault Server. Our SQL Server database resides on a different server than the one where Vault Server will be installed and my understanding is we need to have a domain account that has rights to both servers, as well as SQL SErver rights, etc. The account is set up in Active Directory. It has rights to both servers and all rights mentioned in installation instructions double/triple checked.

Problem is - the Vault Server installation simply does not find the account in AD. If I click the browse button to browse for Domain and user, I retrieve the list of domain names quickly. Choose the right domain, then click the browse button to choose the user account. After a VERY LONG time (1 hour or more), a list of users is returned. This list doesn't contain the account I'm looking for. We have verified that replication is not an issue. Also, many other accounts that I know of do not appear in the list (including mine!!!). Our list contains accounts from A-Z, so doesn't appear to be returning a set number then stopping.

If I try to bypass the browse and simply type the domainname\username, the installation eventually returns a message telling me that I must use an account that is common to both servers - i.e. it can't find this account in Active Directory.

Any ideas? Any idea why it doesn't find all of our accounts?

Any insight, tips, help, etc will be much appreciated. Thank you SO much.

Currently working off line on this as well. Active Directory gurus can feel free to jump in.
