The server connection class was not initialized.

The server connection class was not initialized.
I've rebuilt my computer and now get the following error with Vault Client 3.1.9 (3798): "The server connection class was not initialized. Call InitService before performing other network operations." However, the client within Visual Studio 2005 works fine. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
Are you able to connect with this URL in a web browser?
http://VAULTSERVER/VaultService/VaultService.asmx

Yes, I am able to connect to http://VAULTSERVER/VaultService/VaultService.asmx, but I'm not sure what FogBugz has to do with Vault.
I'm not sure where you are getting the FogBugz thing. The second item on this forum post will show you what you should have seen: http://support.sourcegear.com/viewtopic.php?t=736
At what point are you getting that error?
The easiest fix I think is to reinstall the client which can be pulled from the server at http://<vault server>/vaultservice/
I forgot to check, you rebuilt the client computer right? It wasn't the server?
You can connect with other clients, right?

I'm glad the Vault Client is intelligent enough to know it has a different version than the server it is connecting to. I might be able to understand forcing the server and client into having the same version (only barely), but to then not make the client intelligent about the error it displays when it is connecting to a previous server version is unacceptable.
Oh, and trying to reinstall a previous client over a newer client doesn't work either.
