Unable to open vault login from VS.NET 2003
Hi,
I had this web project in Vault 3.5.* and I use to open the project from VS.NET 2003 using 'File > Source Control > Open from Source Control". It use to work just fine till 2 days back. This morning when I selected "Open from Source Control" I DO NOT get login prompt from Vault. I checked VS.NET setting and it looks unchanged. Also, Source Gear Vault is my default SCC provider selected. Please help.
Thanks,
Shy

Bindings are missing
I checked the bindings through "File > Source Control > Change Source Control" and there is no server binding information available. Unfortunately, I do not have Recently Used Projects list. When I directly try to launch the .sln file from explorer, I get message "This is not a valid visual studio solution file".
Does Vault open fine on it's own and the project is in there?
I just noticed you mentioned website. Those are a little different. Try the directions in this KB article: http://support.sourcegear.com/viewtopic.php?t=5548 and let me know what happens.

Unable to Open project from Vault within Visual Studio 2003
Yes, when you launch Vault DIRECTLY it comes up very fine. I have projects in there. The only issues lies when you try to open a project FIRST TIME from Visual Studio 2003 using "File > Source Control > Open From Source Control". The Vault login screen simply doesn't come. However, If I unchek option "Make Vault your default SCC provider" and go back to Visual Studio 2003, the projct loads fine using VSS.
I am only worried becuase there has been no change in my laptop or software configuration and all of sudden the Vault binding lost withing Visual Studio 2003.

Unable to open vault login from VS 2002/ 2003
No, I could not. That is for VS 2005. I am using VS 2002 and VS 2003.
One of the post I read that MSSCCPROJ.SCC should be created at each working folder when you open the Solution. I do not see this files being created at all. Other thing mentioned in the same post was that sometimes Solution file gets corrupted and has AAAAA in its Project Name. I do see that but the same file works fine with VSS 6 so I was not sure weather I should change it.
Background: We did migration from VSS 6 to Vault 3.5.*. The check-in/check-out and all other basic functions just works great from Vault. Byt, for the first time I tried to openup this Solution in VS 2002 ans VS 2003 I got into this situation where It does not bring the LOGIN SCREEN. I have reconfirmed that Vault is the default SCC provider and in VS 2002 Tools > Options > Source Control it is showing Login ID for Source Gear Vault. But still I don;t have any clue why Solution file should be open from Vault Source Control.

You may not be aware of this, but Vault only supported integration with VS.NET 2002 in Vault 1.x.
Vault no longer supports integration with VS.NET 2002. Vault *does* support integration with VS.NET 2003. It's possible the mix of VS.NET 2002 and 2003 is causing a problem.
Are other Vault users having the same problem with opening from Source Control?
How were your solution files added to Vault? Did you add them with the Vault GUI Client or with VS.NET 2003 using File->Source Control->Add to Source Control.
