I installed 4.1.2 Server and Client
The Server is running on the same machine as the VSS DB (only on drive c: where the DB is on drive e: )
The client is running on a separate machine with an http connection
When I connect I get a login and a 'login succesful' message. Then it says
Updating file list: $/
Received file list: $/
and the tree shows $/ only. I don't see my actual tree. When I connect directly through a VSS client I see the correct tree
Only seeing $/ in client

With a previous user deleting the SOS cache fixed the problem. That will force SOS to retrieve the tree structure again. What you want to remove is "databaseX.sos", where X is a number for each database served by a given SOS Server, from the \Documents and Settings\<username>\Application Data\SourceGear\SOS\servers\<servername>\
If it can't get the tree structure at all, then there may be a connection issue, and the folders you saw before were merely from the cache. If this doesn't solve the issue then I will need more details on your set up and your SourceOffSite log file (log.txt) located on the machine where the SOS server resides.
