Failed to connect to server after install (3.1.9 and 3.5)

As a previous user of Vault, I installed 3.1.9 (on a new laptop) and got the following error:

Unable to connect to http://localhost/VaultService. No server was found at the specified URL. Please verify your network settings using the Options dialog under the Tools menu in the Vault GUI Client. Web Exception: The request failed with HTTP status 405: Method not allow

I subsequently had some weird issues with SQL Server so I:

1. Reinstalled SQLServer 2000 (SP3 on XP SP2) with default instance
2. Tested successfully new SQL Server install connectivty with SQL user/pwd combination
3. Installed Vault 3.5 using machine IIS login
4. Got the same problem !

My config details : IIS 5.1, XP SP2, SQL Server 2000 Developer SP 3

I have previously installed and similar (3.*) versions of Vault with no problems at all.....

Any ideas ?

Apologies,
I powered up VS .NET and found that I had not installed ASP.NET in my haste. After installing ASP.NET, everything worked perfectly.
