Vault - An unhandled win32 exception occurred in devenv.exe

Post by ChesneyMark » Tue Jun 13, 2006 6:25 am

Until today I have been able to checkout files from Vault using VS 2005 without any problems, but since today when I try to open a window's form in the IDE without checking it out first, I get the JiT error window appearing with 'An unhandled win32 exception occurred in devenv.exe". Now I should mention that when we try to view one of our forms VS is always checking it out from Vault otherwise it won't let us display it. I have tried to repair VS and have uninstalled and reinstalled Vault (also delting the Application Data for Vault), but this has made no difference other than after delting the application data for Vault the error appears much faster than before.

Any help would be appreciated.

Mark

The version of Vault we are using is 3.1.7 (3719)[/quote]

Could you find out if you have a devenv.exe.config file in more then one location? One should exist where Vault is installed, most likely in C:\Program Files\SourceGear\Vault Client. If one exists in your Visual Studio directory could you rename it? If this doesn't resolve the problem, please e-mail the file to me at Tonya@SourceGear.com.

Renaming the devenv.exe.config file

Tonya, I’m afraid renaming the devenv.exe.config simply means that anything in the IDE that involves accessing resource files no longer works. I've E-mailed you the file.
