Problem

Post by ddd » Mon May 15, 2006 7:13 pm

It's in an endless loop trying to get latest version..

"An exception was encountered during the get latest operation. Exception: Server was unable to process request. ---> Object reference not set to an instance of an object."

The users get the latest to an encrypted folder. I sometimes mount it myself and update the vault (they only go down). It seems to loose track when doing that. Also why does version.xml try to contact the vault website?

I had to have him clear the cache.

Is there some setting I can use so that mutliple people can (one at a time) can access the encrypted containers to get latest version/update/etc? If not, that should be added .. somehow keep track of knowing the cache is bad because something doesn't mesh.

What's the best way to clear the cache and retain settings (like working folder/etc) without causing a problem. Can I just delete _sgvalut?

If multiple users are doing a get to the same folder, this can cause each user's Vault baseline files to be out of sync with the contents of the folder and create errors and unexpected results.

We implemented a version check because some users wanted to know when we had a newer version and also to make users aware of possible incompatibilities between their Vault client and server. You can turn it off in the Vault Client under Tools->Options->General->Check for latest Vault version at startup.

Depending on what is out of sync in the Vault GUI Client, you could try just clearing some cache items, but not CacheMember_WorkingFolderAssignments, for instance. If the file baselines are out of sync, then you could just delete the _sgvault folder.
