Does Vault benefit from or support IIS gzip compression?

Will enabling gzip compression in IIS break Vault? Will transmissions be smaller with compression? Do the Vault server and client already use their own compression algorithm when communicating?

Vault already uses compress for file/delta transfers

I don't think we've tested Vault with gzip compression in IIS.

Assuming IIS handles all the gzipping and unzipping transparently, it should be compatible with Vault. However, there would be no gain to doing this in Vault, since we already compress files going to/from the server, so the only affect would slowing Vault down.
