Security issue

I am unable to assign permissions to a folder in Vault using the admin tool. It is a folder that has existed in Vault for some time and there are permissions assigned to it. However, I am not able to assign anybody else to this folder. I have tried both assignments by user and by folder. I can still assign other users to other folders. Please help.

We could use more information.

Are you trying to give a particular user rights to this folder? What specific steps are you taking to assign permissions to this folder?

Is there an error message when you try to set permissions?
You can post a screenshot here if you think that would help us understand the problem.

This is happening again. When trying to assign user permission to a specific folder. It fails to assign the user. Steps in Vault Admin are User Tab/select user/add security/choose repository/select folder/assign rights/click ok button. It returns to the "Security setting for user" screen almost immediately. The folder assignment we just tried is missing from the list. Sure enough the user still is blocked from that folder. Please help.

Is there any error logged the the Vault server log file when you try to set the rights?

Attached is the server log. I have noted where I tried to add a user's security to a folder. Nothing was recorded. There is also another problem in which my user account doesn't work anymore. That is logged and I have pointed it out in my comments.

We did a trace and it appears to call a stored procedure called spAddRights and runs to completion. However, it does NOT change the database as the users rights have NOT been modified.

Vault 5.0.2.18753

I am currently running into this exact issue. We use Folder Security and while everyone has Read access I cannot get Vault to update any of the users permissons. Once I click the Update after making my change it just reverts back to the preivous setting.

Is there a fix for this?

Bit more info, I have restarted our Vault server and that had no effect.
