Vault 3.1.5 server and client.
Visual Studio 2003
We have a web project with the same name as one of the files in the project. Often when we check out the csproj file, we also get the aspx file checking out without wanting it to be. Other times we get a "file already checked out" message.
Can you reproduce this? Could it go in as a minor fix, or is this Visual Studio behaviour? Obviously we could rename the file/project, but it's a bit of a pain.

Unwanted check out when projectname is also an aspx filename

I was able to reproduce similar behavior with Vault, but not when using VSS as the source control provider. So this appears to be a Vault issue.
I'll log it as a bug, though I don't have a timeframe for a fix.
I only got the error message that the file was already checked out, but the file still got checked out or not, depending on the command. I couldn't reproduce the unwanted checkout. If you have specific steps, let me know.
I'm using Vault 3.1.6.
Update: Turns out I was able to reproduce the checkout. The .aspx file didn't appear checked out in VS.NET, but the Vault GUI client showed the file as checked out.

Reproducing bug behaviour
Linda,
Thanks for the reply. I'm impressed that you've put it in as a bug - it seems so unlikely that anyone else will ever come across it.
As for reproducing it, the other guys on my team have it frequently, but I had never come across it until about an hour ago. I'll have to play around to see if I can work it out. However, I'm away for two weeks as of the end of this week, so I won't be able to do it for a while.
Thanks,
Andy
