comments / last user addede to source files...

Using source safe we were able to put in things such as $comment$ in the source code which, when a file was checked in, would have the comments pasted into the file. Other features included automatically putting the name of hte last person to edit the file in etc.

Is this possible in vault?

This is a feature called keyword expansion and it is supported in Vault. We support all keywords supported in VSS 6.x, including $Author: $, $Date: $, $History: $, etc.

For details, see Vault Client Help->Reference Guide->Keyword Expansion.

However, I don't see a $Comment: $ keyword documented in VSS 6.0d Help, and Vault doesn't have this either. Perhaps you're thinking of a different feature or using a different version of VSS?
