3.1.2 Show History w/o Labels is now harder to do!

Post by mlippert » Tue Sep 27, 2005 1:20 pm

I thought that 3.1.2 was supposed to remember the last selection of filters when showing history.

Instead it now takes 4 mouse clicks to get history without labels instead of the previous 2 mouse clicks AND instead of the desired 0 mouse clicks!

Am I missing something? I looked in options to see if there was now some other setting to tell Vault to remember the history filter, but I haven't found anything.

I'm going to get a lot of complaints about this after I get everyone to upgrade their client from 3.0.7 to 3.1.2!

The only thing we added for 3.1.2 was the ability to check/uncheck all actions, not the ability to define default query criteria. Sorry if there was a misunderstanding.

Default queries and saved queries are definitely items we want to do.

I haven't seen 3.1.2 yet, but I complained about this in 3.1.1. It took 14 clicks to see history with everything but labels. I hear they at least added a "Check All" button. I asked that they could just make "these things" the default and have everything checked, so that way we get to the same situation as we had in 3.0.7, and then people that wanted only changes could just hit "Uncheck all" (or whatever) and check "Changes", which is a heck of a lot fewer clicks than 3.0.7.

Oh. Well you've made it a lot harder to just unselect 1 thing (Labels in particular) now.

Thanks for the clarification, any chance this will make it into the next point release?

Greg,
Good point that would be a very helpful interim step anyway.

Yea, the radio buttons don't really add much to this feature (unless I'm missing something). I'll add a quick feature request to simply take them out, but keep the toggle button. 3.1.3 isn't scheduled yet, but hopefully this will make it in.

Dan, they were needed when the "All" buttons didn't exist, but now that they do, the radio buttons can go.
