Current, I use Vault server version 3.05. We have 50 licenses and database about 2Gb. Now I would like to upgrade to Version 3.1. Please show me step by step what I need to do.
- My server’s info:
+ Windows 2003
+ SQL server 2000
+ Vault server 3.05
Thanks,
Upgrade vault server version 3.05 to Version 3.1!

1. First, you'll want to backup the Vault database (via the Admin Tool or via the SQL Enterprise manager), in case anything goes wrong with the upgrade.
2. Then you simply invoke the installer to upgrade it. Depending on your database, a 3.1 upgrade may take a non-trivial amount of time to upgrade (perhaps 10 minutes to an hour as a wild guess). You might want to pick a time when developers won't be needing to get or checkin files.
3. If you want to see how long it will take to upgrade, you could copy the database to a different machine and install 3.1 there and see how long it takes. Then when you upgrade the real server, you'll know how long it will be down for.
Hope this helps,
