Separating the DB creation from the server install

Post by danfinucane » Fri Sep 16, 2005 2:14 pm

My client, a very large company, has strict rules for creating and modifying databases. Database DDL scripts need to pass through change control procedures before they can be run to create or modify a database. Only DBA's can run DDL scripts. Only System Administrators can install software on servers. System Administrators are never DBA's. Obviously your setup program does not fit in with this process.

Do you have any suggestions on how I might get Vault installed in such a corporate environment?

Thanks.

We could provide you with a backup of a Vault database that can be restored to your SQL Server. Then your System Admin can run the installer and point it to the database.

Contact me via email, Linda at SourceGear.com and we'll work out the details.
