Availability of an offline database upgrade procedure?
Is there a way to take a Vault 3.0.7 formatted database that you want to upgrade to the 3.1.2 format and upgrade it offline with another SQL Server and a backup of the database? I don't want to have to shutdown the access to our current 3.0.7 database while the installation for 3.1.2 upgrades the database format from 3.0.7 to 3.1.2.
Yes, you can restore a backup of your sgvault database to a different SQL Server, run the Vault 3.1.2 installer, which will upgrade the database.
Then uninstall Vault from your production Vault server and restore the upgraded database to your production SQL Server. The install Vault 3.1.2, keeping the database when prompted. See the tips here:

You might be able to just restore the upgraded database and run the Vault 3.1.2 installer over your production installation, but the upgrade may not create the appropriate SQL login/db user that a new install would.
