We are using Vault version 3.0.2. The server is a Windows 2000 Server, SP4.
More and more frequently we are experiencing issues where files do NOT appear checked out (when viewing them from the client) but the server reports that they are. We can uncheck them with the admin tool.
A few times, the opposite has occurred. The client app reports that something is checked out ( and the developer insists that it ISN'T) but looking at the check out list on the admin side does NOT show it as checked out.
Can you help us determine where to look for more clues at to these problems? Would upgrading to newer versions correct this behavior?

I'd suggest you upgrade clients and Vault server to 3.1.1. There were some issues with checkout that were addressed in this latest release.Would upgrading to newer versions correct this behavior?
It may resolve the problem.
And if it doesn't, it would be better to troubleshoot on the new release, rather than one that is a few versions old.
