Number of SQL client licenses needed?

New Vault user here. We've purchased our Vault seats, but are still waiting on the server hardware to be set up.

My question: I'm assuming that Vault uses a single SQL client license, vectoring all user operations through it. My IT guy, though, wants me to double-check this before we put SQL Server on the server. Is my assumption correct?

That's not correct.

Every Vault user needs a SQL CAL. So, if you have a Vault 10-user license, you would need 10 CALS. This is a Microsoft requirement.
