Can't install Vault Server

Post by Guest » Sat Aug 06, 2005 10:37 pm

I used to use Vault Client and just uninstalled it. I now downloaded VaultServer_3_1_1.msi and when I run it it says "IIS Version 5.00 or greater is required to install the Vault Server. Please ensure it is installed and run this install again."

I already went through the registry and deleted all relevant references to Vault. This on WinXP with SP2.

I guess I have to ask the obvious question: is IIS 5.0 installed on this machine?

If you just want to install the client, you need to download the "Vault Client" installer, not the "Vault Server" installer.

At the time I didn't know what IIS was. The short error message and acyronym only frustrated and confused me, while doing nothing to help me resolve the problem. If instead of that, a window displayed that defined and stated the problem, along with the solution, I would be using Vault right now instead of Perforce.
