Hi,
I recently upgraded from the single free version of vault to a 2 user version and I am having the following problem. We use a combination of VS6 ad VS.Net for our development environment and this are ok there. We also use the Microsoft Development Environment to create MSI files for our application. WHen I try to load an existing project in the Microsoft Development Environment as it is trying to initialize source control I get the following window " Error Creating window handle" and the window has a caption that reads "SourceGear Vault". I need some help because I cannot release a change to our application.

Did this work before?
I'm not sure what you mean by Microsoft Development Environment. Is this a Visual Studio app other than VC++ or VB 6? If so, integration is not supported in Vault.
We had a similar report of this error with another non-supported IDE:
http://support.sourcegear.com/viewtopic.php?t=2625
If this is the case, you could do source control operations with the Vault GUI client and development in the IDE of your choice.

Linda,
Thanks for the link but I found that earlier and unfortunately it doesn't have a way of fixing the problem. The environment is actually called the "Microsoft Development Environment 6.0" and the link to access it is from a Visual Studio Installer menu option that i have. Basically I don't want to use source control with this but I can't find a way to unconfigure it. Any ideas?

We haven't tested Vault with this environment. Does it help if you uncheck "Make Vault your default scc provider" in the Vault GUI Client under Tools->Options->General?
Another possibility might be to delete any source code control (.scc) files in your project and edit out any references to source control (bindings, etc) in .proj files (or similar).
Be sure to back everything up first before you make any changes.
I'll consult with my colleagues to see if they have other ideas.
