Comments and Check-Ins

Post by ERodriguez » Mon Jun 20, 2005 8:17 am

How can I re-enable prompts for comments on check-in through Visual Studio.Net 2003?

My current vault project requires comments on checkin. It used to be that when I wanted to check a file in through the VS IDE, when I chose checkin from the context sensitive menu, I would be presented with the checkin hierarchy in a modal dialog box, along with a box for comments.

Now, when I try to do this operation, I dont get the box anymore, and a dialog box saying my checkin failed because I have to add a comment is presented.

I can add a comment through the pending checkins tab in the IDE, but I prefer to do it on a page by page basis through the way I was doing it the first time.

thanks!

Take a look at your options in VS.NET under Tools->Options->General. Do you have "Display Silent Checkin/Checkout command in menus" checked?

If so, uncheck them and you should get the checkin/out dialogs.
