Can't get 3.1 beta up and running

Post by JonMiller » Tue Jun 07, 2005 1:29 pm

The install worked fine, but I cannot login through the web client or the desktop client. I'm using windows 2003 x64 with .NET 2.0 beta x64 and Visual Studio 2005 beta 2 x64. Any suggestions would be apprecaited.

I don't think we've tested Vault on the 64-bit systems, but let's just troubleshoot this as usual.

What error do you get when you login?

Try the step by step troubleshooting instructions at this link and let me know the results of each of these steps:

The webpage is actually working. However, no matter what I use for my username and pass it is rejected through the web client. The winforms client won't log in at all. I receive the error:

Unable to connect to https://127.0.0.1/VaultService. No server was found at the specified URL. Please verify your network settings using the Options dialog under the Tools menu in the Vault GUI Client. Web Exception: The underlying connection was closed: Unable to connect to the remote server.

That last post had the wrong message. I had clicked the SSL checkmark by accident. Here is the error message from the client when there is no SSL.

The Vault Server could not establish a connection to the database. Please check the server's log for detailed information. (FailDBConn)

That helps. Send me a copy of the sgvault.log file from the Vault Server %windir%\temp\sgvault directory.

I'd also like a copy of the vault_install.log file from your user's temp directory.
