Keyword Expansion: a few questions

Hi,

Can you please help me to better understand the Keyword Expansion feature.

Q1: Why is it repository specific instead of server wide?

Q2: This option is off by default. Is it to save Vault server processing power or are there any other reasons?

Our specs don't have anything that specifically addresses your questions, but here are my best guesses --

Q1: Why is it repository specific instead of server wide?

To give you more flexibility. You might want .txt files expanded for one repository but not for the other.

Q2: This option is off by default. Is it to save Vault server processing power or are there any other reasons?

Not all developers use keyword expansion, so the default is off. Plus you have to specifically configure what types of files you want expanded and we want to let our customers decide these specifics.
