Repository Search

Post by DeltaBank » Thu Jun 02, 2005 8:50 am

Is there a way to search a repository to determine the existence of an object and its location (folder) in the repository?

I am using version 2.0.6

Try the version 3 filename search capability (from the search pane). It will search the tree for matches on the file name and display the full path in the list.

As Dan mentioned, Vault 3.0.x has this capability built into the Search tab.

As for Vault 2.0.x, I believe there was an open license tool, FindFiles, available in the public vault server that may help.

Look in the VaultTools repository in http://vaultpub.sourcegear.com/vaultser ... login.aspx (use guest:guest for authentication)

Jeff,

Thanks for the suggestions.

I tried the utilities found at the URL you provided.
Nothing works. I tried the FindFiles, VaultSearch and the VaultSearchUI programs. All programs resulted in an unhandled exception error.

Am I missing something?

Sorry, I don't know much about these tools.

Perhaps the original authors left an email in the source code you could contact them for more assistance.
