VSS Hyperlink Protocol

Has anyone at Sourcegear tried to configure the OS to have SOS open when using a hyperlink like:

vss://$/projects/somedoc.doc

Interesting. But no, we haven't tried it.

I don't know that this would work with SOS, since the SOS client doesn't communicate directly with the VSS database. Rather, the SOS Server behaves like a VSS client and it communicates with the database through the Automation Component. So any protocol would run on the Server machine and wouldn't be of much use to remote users.
