Using Vault with a different Bug Tracking application

Post by Guest » Thu May 05, 2005 2:47 pm

I am currently evaluating Vault as an upgrade from VSS for my company right now. We have an in-house bug tracking system and was written by us. I'd rather not go to a different one like Dragnet or FogBUGZ. Is there a way to integrate our system for us with Vault?

If you could provide some "hooks" into your app for Vault, it might be possible.

See this forum post for a similar situation and some recommendations:

I see that post but it seems that is only used to post the update to the bug. What do I need to do to our application to have it list the current bugs so my "Update Bugs" box is not greyed out anymore?

Also on the update is there a reference to the comment? I see there is a checkbox on the gui but according to the post it doesn't send that information. Unless FogBUGZ is looking it up in your tables?

With other bug tracking systems there's no way to list current bugs in the way you described.

Our support of bugtracking systems other than Dragnet and FogBugz is pretty much limited to what was in the link from my previous post.
