Hi,
We are doing a lot of component oriented development. These components are shared to a lot of projects. The problem that we are getting is that the labels of the projects are shown with the components and vica versa. It is now becoming a real problem finding the correct label in the "Show Labels" Dialog.
Here is the vault structure:
comp1
comp1exports
comp2
comp2exports
proj1
imports
comp1exports
comp2exports
proj2
imports
comp2exports
So we always label comp1 with comp1 labels, comp2 with comp2 labels, proj1 with proj1 labels etc....
The components in imports get pinned to a label. However, since the components als get labelled with each project label, labels start appearing everywhere.
Hope you got an easy solution for us.
thanks,
Herbert.
Sharing and Labelling Question

One thing you can do to mitigate this is unclick the "Show inherited labels" checkbox in the Show Labels dialog when viewing the share component's labels. This will then not show any labels that were applied to the component by one of the projects higher up in the tree.
Shared folders are tricky when it comes to labelling. A shared object must be labelled everytime any of its links are labelled - it's just the way shares work. Hopefully not showing inherited links will remove enough of the labels to be more managable.
