folders that show files recursively with different status

Post by Emre Aydinceren » Fri Apr 15, 2005 8:37 am

I like to see a list file that needs to be merged or overriden.

Currently either I have to go click on each folder on my solution and see changed files
or
Get latest version recursively but do not automatically merge but prompt for action.

Rather I would really like to see a list of files that needs to be taken care of in the entire solution. Just like on outlook, I would like to create custom filtered folders. See attachment

I can log this as a feature request, but we'd need more information on how this might be implemented. Would you want one folder -- sort of a virtual folder -- that holds the results of a query or filter?

If you're using Vault 3.x, the Search tab at the bottom of the Vault GUI client might give you most of what you need. You can search on "Any file status" and get a list of all files with a status other than blank. Or you can specifically search for files with "Needs Merged," "Old," etc. From this pane you can do a "Get Latest."

Would the Search work for what you need?

Yes,
Thank you I didn't notice the search with anystatus.
When it comes to your question "yes" again, virtual folders as you described.

Thanks
