Get from Source Control - Dialog too small

Post by THONA » Wed Mar 30, 2005 8:25 am

Hello :-)

OLD propblem in VS - nice to see it from you, too.

THe "Create local project from source control" dialog that I get when I open a project from source control with source control being vault.

Who the heck did design it, and why did he ignore Dialog design basics?

Basically - the dialog is SMALL - and it is not resizable. Come on - just because your developers have small screrens, make those of us using 1600x1200 resultion a favoufr, and make this dialot resiazable and remember it's last location and size.

Are you using VB 6?

I believe these dialogs are the same no matter which SCC provider the IDE is using, and we probably don't have much control over this. I'll check into it to see if there's anything we can do, though.

I use not VB at all - how do you get the ridiculous idea I would use VB?

I use C# on SQL Server 2003.

And given that the dialog explicitly tells me "Vault folder to Download" I somehow really doubt that this is a dialog which you do NOT control.

Comparing it with my workstation (running Sourcesafe instead of Vault) I can actually see that Sourcesafe comes up with a different dialog.
