Hi all:
I don't know what's going on. Please help.
I try and add files to Vault, about 20MB worth. No file is over 1MB.
Everything uploads until:
[3/21/2005 9:08:20 PM] Ending the transaction
[3/21/2005 11:07:18 PM] Server unavailable for transaction end
[3/21/2005 11:07:18 PM] Transaction failed
[3/21/2005 11:07:19 PM] Item $/cc/Communities/Common/Images/HtmlTextBoxEditor/office2000/fontbackcolorpicker.gif caused the transaction to fail: Could not retrieve the file from the database.
[3/21/2005 11:07:21 PM] Transaction failed
The "Item" on the 4th line above changes to something else when I remove the said file. It seems as if it's not an issue with any said file.
As I tried various things, I also noticed this come up:
[3/21/2005 7:50:37 PM] Ending the transaction
[3/21/2005 7:51:16 PM] Server unavailable for transaction end
[3/21/2005 7:51:16 PM] Transaction failed
[3/21/2005 7:51:17 PM] Found and corrected problems with the a local baseline file. Retrying the transaction.
[3/21/2005 7:51:17 PM] Preparing data to begin transaction
... but even after it retried, I got the first error.
I'm using Client 2.06 and Server 2.06. Data chunks is set to off. Default Client setting.
Even when I switch to another machine and try add the files from there, same error, leading me to believe the error is server-side or file(s) are the culprit or...?
Help is much appreciated. This is stopping me from a deadline of getting a project into CVS for a client.
Thanks so much.

One user who had this error found that they were short on disk space and SQL Server could not make the update. Check your Windows Event viewer to see if there are any errors related to this.
If that's not the problem:
Can you add single files? Does the error occur with a particular type of file, like image files, but not text files?
Are you going through a proxy? (Check your network settings option in the Vault Client under Tools->Options->Network settings.)
What does the Vault server log (sgvault.log file) say for the same time period? It's located in %windir%\temp\sgvault on the Vault server machine.
Or, try reproducing the error and then send me the log file. It might help to put the log in debug mode (Admin Tool->Server Options->Logging.) Email Linda at Sourcegear.com
