Problem getting solution from source control

Post by cab124 » Tue Mar 08, 2005 9:34 am

Last night I began to have a problem with SOS in which it would no longer allow me to check in, check out or delete certain files.

I thought that I might be able to correct the problem by closing my solution, deleting the SOS server folder, deleting my working folders (after backing them up)and then opening the solution from source control.

However, when I try to open from source control, I get the following message:

"An error occurred when you attempted to access the source control system. Check your solution's source control bindings."

What does this mean?

I am able to see the solution from the SOS client. I am usin version 4.0.2.

Thank you.

Usually the bindings error comes when you have a local solution that is bound to a different source control provider. But that's not an error you should get if you're doing a fresh get from source control.

Is there a problem connecting to the SOS Server?

Can you log into SOS with the GUI client?

Were any files retrieved into the working folders? Were any source control files created?

I am able to connect to the source control server using the SOS client and I am able to log in. The problem appears to be in Visual Studio only.

As soon as I try to "get from source control," I always get the bindings error.
