Missing Exclusive locks

Post by Thomas Linder Puls » Fri Mar 04, 2005 8:41 am

I believe there is a bug in the handling of check out. I use version 3.0.2 (but there are no reports about fixes for this problem in the later versions).

The bug is that if I check out a non-mergable file, and skip the check-out dialog (i.e. don't press Shift) then I get a non-exclusive lock.

If use the check-out dialog (i.e. press Shift), then the "Exclusive" box is checked, and gray so that I cannot change it. And in that case the lock do become Exclusive.

This is reproducible (at least we have done it several times).

Yes, I'm seeing the same thing - I'll take a look and see what is happening.

Dan, are the release notes for 3.0.5 on this issue correct?

They say "Non-Mergable files are now checked out non-exclusively when the checkout dialog is not shown."

I thought that was the behaviour that was a bug?

Thanks for the catch Mike - yes, you are correct. One too many negatives in there...

I'll update the KB article.
