Pending Change Set: Local file does not exist

Post by rifferte » Thu Feb 24, 2005 2:18 pm

Using Vault 3.01

Upon opening a repository, there are numerous files in my pending change set. The only issue is, the files (and the directory that is supposed to contain them) do not exist.

I tried undo and I get:Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

I have looked and I can't find if there is a working folder association etc.

Any ideas? I would like my pending change set to only be real files that I have worked on.

Do the files not exist in Vault or in the client file system?

If the files are checked out, Vault should not have allowed them to be deleted from the tree. Are the files checked out or just edited?

Also, Vault is supposed to automatically remove files from the pending change set that no longer exist in tree. Can you reproduce this behavior to get this into the same state?

For now, you could remove the CacheMember_KnownChanges file from the client cache or the CacheMember_CheckOutList, depending on whether the files are checked out or not. See http://support.sourcegear.com/viewtopic.php?t=6 for directions on how to do this.

The files do not exist on my local machine - they are in vault though.

I am using Vault in CVS mode, and I do not check the files out. Also - no one else has them checked out.

I did remove all of the repository GUID folders - that seemed to of cleared out my issue.

I am assuming that something got mucked up after the upgrade to Vault 3, since all of the folders causing issue where old branches.
