Pending Change Set won't refresh

Post by pearsons_11114 » Tue Feb 01, 2005 7:02 pm

Sometimes files that have been edited and show as edited in the file list don't show up in the pending change set, even after refreshing. I have to restart the client to resolve. Is this a known bug, or a configuration problem on my part? Thanks!

We sign up for OS events that tell us when a file has changed, and this sometimes doesn't report that a file was edited. This provides far better performance than scanning all working folders on a regular basis, but it does sometimes miss edited files.

In the 3.0 version of Vault, we do sync up the file list with the pending change set, so if a file is listed as edited in the file list, it should also be in the pending change set. Also, we do a complete scan of working folders on startup, so they will get caught then as well.

In 3.0.x, I've also been able to get the edited files to show up in the pending change set by clicking in the list and pressing F5.

Running 2.06 here. This might sound like a minor annoyance, but it's really not. It wouldn't do to miss a file that needs to be checked in. I guess the workaround is to do a status search for edited files before a check in, or restart the client (this seems to refresh properly every time). Thx for the info.

"pending change set" not working

I also use 2.0.6 and restarting the client doesn't help.

I currently see 3 files , out of 15 that are edited and must be checked in....

If restarting the client app doesn't help, then the problem is somewhere else. Are you sure the working folders are set to where you modified the files?

I'm never setting any working folder, I alway use inherited...

As an exersice, I manually forced it to the phisical localtion... and I cant find a way to revert back! help!

Thanks,

Stephan

note: In the past we found a hack to select the recycling bin , that worked.
but I guess this is now fixed , but how to I revert back to inherited???
