Ugrading from Vault 2.0.1 to Vault 2.0.6 questions

We are going to upgrade to Vault 2.0.6. I just have a few questions regarding the upgrade process:

1) When we upgrade the Server, does it matter if users are connected to the Vault server or should we upgrade when no one logged to the server.

2) If users have files checked out, should we have them undo their checkouts before we backup the database.

Also, any other helpful suggestions on upgrading to 2.0.6 would be helpful as well. Do you have a document that lists some known issues when installing Vault 2.0.6 or some known problems with Vault 2.0.6?
